Josh Stone admits he prefers big swells, little sails, high speeds, and lots of loops. Considered by many as an ambassador of the sport with his yellow boards and amicable personality, he has done much for the new trend in windsurfing called "free-riding," Says Josh "It's the future of windsurfing. It attracts and motivates young people to have fun and that's what windsurfing is all about."

In 1997, Josh's performance lived up to his potential when he pulled world-class moves that launched him to 3rd overall. Josh remembers his best performance at the PWA in Fiji where he scored the maximum points ever awarded for a single wave ride in the entire history of the PWA. Since then, he's won the Production Board Wave European and World Championships, and placed 2nd during the wave-riding competition in Sylt, Germany.
