When Gordy Peifer won the 1998 Canadian Extreme Championship, he was one step closer to accomplishing his goal: to someday win the overall World Extreme Championship. Last year, he would have to settle for 3rd in the overall World Cup Extreme Freeskiing rankings. In the same year, Peifer placed 6th in the Red Bull Snow Thrill in Chamonix, and 10th in the 1998 World Extremes in Valdez. Known for precision and speed, which he acquired from a ski racing background, Peifer has taken these techniques to the big mountains and accomplished numerous first descents. Peifer has been on the covers of both Skiing and Powder Magazines.
